Norel has some fun and helps stop a thug on her unapproved night out!

Well lookey here!? I finished the story with the art on the same day?? Well I was waiting around for a long time away from my computer today which lead to me finishing both the story and the art together. It helps that this one is rather short and focuses on Norel. It's a fun one though that addresses some things about the silent Norel and takes place directly after errand 7!

Norel had hit the jackpot. While the day had been more or less dull for the Lileep personally, the argument between the Yanma and Exeggutor must have worn the two out so thoroughly for they were asleep and dead to the world in mere minutes upon arriving home. Better yet, in their haste to sleep, Tornonbor had failed to shut the door properly and the Yanma's grip of her had faltered quite easily in his sleep.

The stars had aligned in her favor and Norel was more than happy to take up the opportunity.

Night had fallen on Andalusst and there was a crisp feeling in the air as the earth cooled down. It was mostly silent as the non-nocturnal Pokémon finally tuckered down after a long day's work. Despite the silence, the squeak coming from the Exeggutor's shack was almost inaudible. Slowly the door was being pushed open as the small Lileep nudged it to the side with every inch she managed to crawl. Night was her time to shine as everything opened itself up to be looked at and explored. Her vision was perfect now without the glaring sun obscuring her view. The orbs on her back could pick up the tiniest of details from buildings several feet away now that the lighting was just right and she was eager to get a good look.

With her coat serving as her trusty sack-sack, Norel headed out into the open night and after several minutes had passed, she finally passed up the researchers ware house and into the civilian area.

The only problem for Norel now that she was free to roam, was that time was of the essence. There was so much to explore and so many Pokémon to mess with, but her own body was not on her side during these endeavors. The most frustrating of her physical drawbacks was her immobility after all. It would be an understatement to say Norel was a slow walker, if you could call her movement walking. Norel wasn't built for moving around. Her body was heavy and sluggish, moving depended on  the use full concentration  of her energy as her  struggling limbs grabbed at the earth around her and attempted to drag her forward.

After only moving a couple meters, Norel's energy was already beginning to wane on her and she looked around at the surrounding peaceful homes until she spotted something that might help. Off to the side of one house was a large circular bin that rose into the air. Peeking out over the top of the bin was an assortment of scraps and garbage that the residence had set aside for the local Trubbish to take care of. Eagerly Norel scooted her way over to the bin and using her roots and suction cups, she successfully climbed its slick surface to the top.

Inside was a smorgasbord of interesting metals and old food. Quickly she sorted through it, putting anything that looked slightly interesting into the bag on her back and stuffing anything else that wasn't into her mouth. It wasn't the best food but it would do as she filled herself up as much as she could into her tiny one-track stomach. Within minutes she had cleared out most of the bin, having either consuming the goods within or having collected anything worth taking.

When she climbed back down, she wasted no time and continued her slow track through town. She had no destination in mind other than to explore and soon she found herself collecting all sorts of odds and ends in the street.  It was safe to say she was having a blast, but she was sad to find there weren't many living things to witness at this hour and except for the occasional shady figure walking about, everyone was indoors.

The houses all began to look the same to Norel and she had begun to seriously consider breaking into one to see what was inside when she caught wind of several Pokémon talking just a couple feet away. Turning to look she saw an assortment of large and bulky Pokémon following what appeared to be a small black and white bear of some kind. She had a leaf in between her teeth and was talking quite eagerly with the Pokémon surrounding her. They were coming in her direction and Norel backed up a bit in order to get out of their way and gain a better position to watch as they passed.

Several of the Pokémon spotted her as they walked on by, giving her a sideways glance before turning back to listen to the bear. Norel had never seen most of the Pokémon in the group and she found them to be very interesting. As they passed she decided to waddle after them hoping for some sort of fun.

Regrettably, Norel's pursuit ended quite quickly as she failed to keep up with the quick moving group of Pokémon. She had watched them turn into an alley several feet away and had given up the chase, but she wasn't that upset. It appeared in her efforts to keep up with the strange Mons, she had stumbled into a place filled to the brim with bizarre structures. The structures where tiny, standing on four circular metal rings and were surrounded by a sturdy wall of metal above. She didn't know what they were nor cared as her senses picked up on something that smelled quite delectable.

Off in the middle of the street, Norel spotted a foul pile of what appeared to be discarded mushrooms. Almost instantly she was drawn to the promise of another meal and crawled out onto the rigid pavement to give it a taste. With a bit of hurried scooting she dragged her body out to it and began to scarf it down.

Norel gourmet meal consumption was rudely interrupted, however, when an odd yelling of in the distance commanded her attention. From what she could make it out, it sounded like several Pokémon were screaming aggressively at one another and as the time passed it seemed to be getting closer.

With a sudden crash, Norel watched as a large Pokémon came barreling from a nearby alley. It was a bulky frog like Pokémon whose body sported a number of strange bulges. In his arm he was tightly grasping what appeared to box of some kind. In his haste to get out of the alley he had plowed his way through several barrels and had sent them and their contents flying. He had stopped briefly, taking in his environment with a quick dart of the eyes and had turned and had proceeded to start running in Norel's direction.

Norel watched in untold glee as several angry Pokémon eventually plowed through the same alley themselves, seemingly chasing after the large toad. Norel instantly wanted to have some fun with them too and began to head a bit towards the side of the road where large crevice in the street helped hide her from view. She watched patiently as the toad came barreling down the street. Then, just moments before he was to pass Norel up, she shot her tentacles forward and snagged the Pokémon by the foot. With her body stuck firmly on the ground thanks to her suction cups, Norel was able to pull back hard on the foot sending the Pokémon violently, face first onto the rugged street. With a delighted screech, Norel watched as the Pokémon cried out in pain upon impact, losing grip of his possession as he rebounded off the pavement.

By the time the toad had settled on the ground, the Pokémon chasing him had caught up and Norel finally noticed that it was the same group of Mons from before, the same bear leader and all. The leader stopped at the sight of the downed toad and let out a hurried chuckled before stepping roughly on his head, supporting herself as she leaned in to talk with the toad.

"We tried to play nice with you buddy, but then you had to go and bump around some of my guys and steal something that isn't yours. The rest of your gang went packing; didn't even bother to help you out. If I were you, I'd invest in better friends, but I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to work that out where you’re going."

The toad let out an exhausted grumble and Norel watched eagerly as some of the Pokémon that had come with the bear came forward and tied his arms together. Once he was good and tied that lifted him off the ground and began their log walk down the dark street.

"Hey freaky, I saw you trip up that thug."

Norel was surprised to find someone was speaking in her direction and she turned to see that the bear had come over and was now eyeing Norel over with a intrigued look on her face.

"I didn't see you in my group when I started this night watch. In guessing you some random passerby? Well the help was appreciated. That lug had some kick in his step, I didn't think he had it in him, but I shouldn't be surprised. Cowards make for some really good runners! "

Norel watched as the bear began to chuckle to herself again. After she relaxed she gave a quick shake of the head and turned down to look at a bag fastened to her side. Untying the string that held it shut, she pulled the opening wide and proceeded to pull out a single shiny coin and hand it over to Norel who gladly accepted the gift, taking a hold of it with her arm.

"Here you go freaky. You bagged a thug so you should get something for that at least. I gotta go, so stay safe. Streets are still crawling with those thugs you know?"

Norel didn't bother to watch the bear leave as she was far too preoccupied with looking the coin she had been given. It was a lovely, with a bright gleam to it and she felt really happy to have gotten one. When she turned to place it in the sack held tightly in her faulty sack-sack, she was pleasantly surprised to see she had filled it up full to burst again.

Smiling, Norel turned away and began to crawl towards a small garden plot off in the distance. After a while she had managed to crawl inside and had untied her coat-bag to retrieve the plump sack inside. Using her roots she dug out a nice deep hole in the loamy soil and then proceeded to dump the contents of her sack inside. Anything from fur to trash fell out, along with a small number of coins and trinkets. When she finally shook the sack clean of its treasure, she quickly placed the coin she had been awarded inside as the first piece of her new collection.

Her attention again fell on the treasure trove as she performed the finally ritual of the burial. She lifted her head in the air and after a moment or two, the strange slime that usually filled her mouth began to secret from microscopic pores on her tentacles. A powerful odor began to fill the air as she dropped her head back down to the treasure trove. Hurriedly she began to cover the items in the trove with a thick layer of the slime, that differed slightly then the kind within her mouth as it wasn't meant for digestion. When the cold night air had cooled the treasure down, the slime hardened into a reeking pile and Norel had pulled the dirt back atop of it when this had finished. Patting the dirt down until only a small bump was visible, Norel finally finished her hiding spot and turned again the leave.

She had not looked back once after burying her treasure and had simply gone back into the city to comb through its promising bins and crevices for more unclaimed treasures and foods. She had made it well into the next morning when Dint and Tornonbor had finally found her climbing the wall of a library. She was sad to have her fun end, and hung in Dint's arms dismally all the way home.
