Event 4.2 - Desperation

Elektra sighed, Trinity looked forlornly at the group. If only they could just find someone to help them out. Suddenly, Trinity spotted a lone Porygon 2, in a similar position to them, but completely alone in the sea of other Pokemon. With not a partner in sight, Trinity made a snap decision and ran towards him, gabbing his rounded arm and pulling him back to Elektra, who simply looked apologetically at the confused technological duck. He struggled and wormed his way out of her grasp, making some strange, high pitched noises that sounded almost robotic and extra-terrestrial, nothing like anything they’d ever heard before in the slightest. The two simply interpreted it as a scream. “Let go of me!” Screeched the Porygon 2, a very angry looking Haunter materialised next to it instantly and shook its floating fist, coming dangerously close to Trinity’s face.
“Hey, what do you think you’re doing to my partner?!” It’s ethereal voice pierced through both Elektra and Trinity, the Zoroark just looked bemused by the reaction, the Seviper apologised profusely.

“I’m sorry about that whole affair, my partner Trinity is a little... Unruly, at times.” Trinity simply scowled at her partner, who replied by sticking her pale pink tongue out. The apology had little affect seemingly, because Anton the Haunter began to mumble under his breath and coincidentally at that exact moment Trinity found herself in a world of pain, her illusion dropping. Obviously, that wasn’t such a coincidence, and Trinity caught on immediately. After being released from his mental grip, Trinity growled harshly and faded into the shadows, reappearing behind him with her illusion now intact and giving him a swift punch surrounded by a dark aura, which went through his form, but caused him sufficient pain to at least leave a mark that manifested as a small tear. It quickly healed when a torrent of ghostly tentacles rose from the surrounding skin and patched up the hole. Trinity reappeared by her partner’s side, who wasn’t sure how to interpret the now hostile situation. “Trinity, you shouldn't have just punched him like that!”

“But he hexed me! I had ever -” Trinity’s stream of excuses was interrupted when Anton lifted his hands high into the air and summoned a wave of sludge. Neither Trinity nor Elektra knew where the heck this wave of sludge came from, it just seemed to materialise from the middle of nowhere, it surged forwards and the pair dived out of the way. Once the attack had finished it sunk harmlessly into the deep snow, leaving just a small purple blemish on the clear white powder. Even Elektra decided that this was just too much, and readied herself for battle.

Elektra surged forwards at Anton, the blade edged tip of her tail glowed a royal blue colour and smacked him well across the face. The well aimed attack sent Anton flying backwards for quite a distance, an added affect of the move Dragon Tail, but this barely affected him as he just materialised in front of the King’s Gambit once again. Trinity dashed forwards, fading into the shadows and hit Anton yet again, this time the impact was expected and it simply hit one of his hands instead and with his newly found grip he twisted Trinity’s arm. She fell hard on the ground, as did her illusion. He raised his hand to deliver the last blow of the battle, the sludge materialising behind him, Elektra staring on in horror, Yoshi’s cylindrical legs whirling around excitedly.

Just as the sludge was about to wash all over Trinity, from behind one of the market stalls a young Pichu toting a Mareep doll in her arms like a cherished gift ran forth and jumped straight into the fray, splitting Trinity and Anton apart with her tiny arms, tears welling up in her innocent eyes. In the way that only a child could manage, she said; “Please stop fighting!”At that moment everybody froze, apart from Yoshi, who had been charging up a powerful tri attack and at that moment he let it go, and the three elements hit Trinity, Anton and the poor little Pichu all at once.

“Stop this madness! Stop, stop it at once!” Freznel rushed over having heard the commotion and thrust his short arms into the battle, pulling out both the Pichu and her Mareep. He cradled her in her arms and checked if she was alright, before turning his attention the the bickering group, his face tarnished with disgust. “What on earth do you think you’re doing? We have been invited to spend today as a day of celebration, not by having an all out brawl!” Gently he placed the Pichu down onto the floor, she was so minute that she snow almost seemed to bury her. Seemingly she was unhurt, but Trinity (who had took the moment of quiet to regain both her composure and her illusion) could see that she was about to burst into tears. “We’re all living in this town together, we shouldn’t fight over our differences, we should accept them as making us who we are. Brawling over them will not allow us to make any headway, in fact it is just counterproductive.” With that, the group split up, Team Soul Steel floated off in the direction of the Spinda Cafe, and Freznel and his newly found Pichu friend heading towards the rescuers treehouse, leaving Trinity and Elektra alone, feeling fairly down.

“This really isn’t going well, is it?” Trinity muttered to her teammate, who hummed in mutual agreement and the pair of them walked away, their heads hanging in shame.
